Veriu Group has expanded its ACT footprint with the opening of Punthill Narrabundah.
The move marks the group’s second property in the capital, following the opening of Punthill Tuggeranong in 2024.
As Australia’s fastest-growing apartment hotel operator, the new 86-key apartment hotel is a repositioning of an existing property, and has been designed to offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and two-bedroom interconnecting and accessible apartments. Each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen and some include courtyards and balconies, appealing to both leisure and corporate travellers.
The Punthill Narrabundah opening reflects Veriu Group’s continued national expansion, with a growing pipeline of properties across both metropolitan and regional Australia. Veriu Group currently has 8 new hotels under construction across the country including sites in Adelaide (SA), Ryde (NSW), Epping (VIC), Shepparton (VIC), South Yarra (VIC) and Albury (NSW).
Veriu Group Chief Executive Officer, Zed Sanjana, said the move aligns closely with the Group’s long-term strategy to expand its presence in markets where extended-stay demand is both deep and resilient.
“Canberra is a unique market in the Australian accommodation landscape, underpinned by a stable and diverse mix of demand drivers including government, defence, education and corporate travel,” he said.
“These segments frequently require longer stays, and that’s where the Punthill product really resonates – offering guests more space, flexibility and a genuine ‘liveable’ experience that better suits extended visits.
“Following the strong opening of Punthill Tuggeranong, the addition of Punthill Narrabundah allows us to broaden our reach across the city and service a wider range of locations, guest segments and travel needs.”

Narrabundah’s inner-south location is a key differentiator for the property. Positioned within close proximity to Canberra’s central business district and major government precincts, the hotel offers convenient access to Parliament House, the Parliamentary Triangle, key government departments and national institutions. It is also well connected to Canberra Airport and the Brindabella Business Park, a major commercial hub supporting corporate and fly-in/fly-out travel.
The property’s location also places guests within easy reach of some of Canberra’s most popular lifestyle and leisure precincts and major cultural attractions including the National Gallery of Australia and Questacon.
