Deadline extended! Act fast to enter the Australasia-Pacific Hotel Design Awards

It’s your last chance to enter the prestigious awards, with entries now closing on Tuesday, 14 April.

Due to demand, the deadline for entries to the 2026 Australasia-Pacific Hotel Design Awards has been extended until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.

The Hotel Design Awards spotlights hotel projects across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, and this year is shaping up to be the biggest selection yet.

The awards, announced at the Design Inn Symposium on Tuesday 5 May at Adelaide Oval, will recognise exceptional hotel interior design projects completed and opened during 2025 that demonstrate creativity, design innovation, a commitment to sustainable design practices, accessibility and outstanding guest experiences across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific (including Hawaii).

Winners and HC will span across four categories, including new-build properties, conversions, refurbishments, and an overall winner, the Paul Davis Award for the Australasia-Pacific Hotel of the Year.

Who can enter:

The awards are open to all market segments in the Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific (including Hawaii) hotel industry. Properties of all sizes and in any location in the region can be entered. Entries are open to new-build properties, conversions and refurbishments.

New-build hotels and conversions must have opened in 2025, and refurbishment projects must have been completed in 2025 to qualify.

Please note, however, that while designers, hotel representatives, and owners may enter a project, the designer’s input is required to ensure judges have all of the necessary information about a project.

How are awards assessed?

A panel of judges, comprising top designers and HM editors, will consider the design concept, function, impact on the guest experience, innovation, community collaboration/engagement, accessibility, and sustainable outcomes.

2025 winners:

The StandardX Melbourne, Hecker Guthrie & Woods Bagot took out last year’s gong for Hotel of the Year (new-build) and also the Paul Davis Award, while Drifter Christchurch, CTRL Space, won for best conversion in 2025. Last year’s winner for Hotel of the Year was Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, with works undertaken by FK Australia.

The Awards are part of the Design Inn Symposium, which will see global designers taking the stage to discuss key issues, trends and the future of hospitality design.

Submissions are now open, but act fast. Entries to the annual awards close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 April. Find out more here.
